If printers are connected online, u can update directly.

Well I had one that was acting very strange. Printing slowly and such. I ended up popping another hard drive in. Solved it.
I just wanted to have the SSW to have on hand for those units. Heard that also can solve some finisher problems. Anyway, I found a source and purchased to have on hand. I don’t normally flash a lot, but good to have.
as far as online update: Is that a dealer only feature? Also can you online update a brand new hard drive?

thanks so much for the info. I had never used the procedure and actually wasn’t aware of it. I have updated 2 units today by way of the CDS. That is very slick. No laptop or anything required. Love it.
