    Canon C255 Image issues

    Hi

We have had an ongoing issue which we have been unable to solve.(see attached pics). Originally we thought it was the laser so we changed the laser, no change. On canons advice we change the main drive unit but no difference to the image.

Machine boots up ok. No error or alarm codes but machine not setting up laser correctly. Vertical scan can be adjusted ok but horizontal scan can not be adjusted, makes no difference. So theres a magenta line I cannot get rid of.PG test page 6

    Any ideas?

    TIA

    John

main drive ?? Why didn't you think about the magenta drum unit, for example, as we talk about this?

Thanks for your response. We have changed the drum and swapped the following parts from a donor machine:-

Main controller, ITB ,DC controller, HVT high and low voltage

    Bit stumped with this one

Why would you think the problem would be a board.

    Hey John,

are the samples in LEF or SEF feed?

jpg's really don't give us a good view of it. uploading samples in PDF format is much preferred.

+1 on mga's advise... not likely related to a board

did you run the alignment process?

can you measure the distance between marks? compare to defect ruler in SM to find which part is culprit.

you didn't swap the developer unit(s)?

If you go under settings/reg > management settings > there is a spot to initialize all data. Try that. I have had a few new 3rd gen adv do weird stuff out of box.

Does auto correct color mismatch work?

Was it the whole drum unit you changed or just the cylinder? Have you thoroughly cleaned: scanner mirrors, laser mirrors and ATR sensors?
Just as has been said, you are going too far with replacing HVT, DC Controller and ITB. You are not having a blank or even a fading copy.

thanks for all the replies. Due to the corona virus issue another engineer took this job on and replaced the DC controller and it fixed the issue. Not sure how/why but at least it's fixed
