Canon Imagerunner Advance C3330i Powers off

I have a customer with a Canon C3330i that keeps powering itself off for no reason after approximately 5-10 minutes of sitting idle. You hear the switch go off, and when you look at the screen it just gives you the standard message of shutting down
No Error codes.. I have updated the system software than replaced the Power Switch and the Fuser unit.. No help

Please share your thoughts...Thank you !

    NO

I have since replaced the Power Switch, thinking maybe it was faulty. Then through Hytec's tech support advice
replaced the DC Controller. Nothing has helped. So what i did was put a folded piece of paper in the power switch
and taped it in the on position, and so far it has not turned itself off. I know this is the wrong thing to do, so please
let me know what might be the solution.

to force a power switch to remain open = a Bad Idea = a Tech with no regard for customer property

a tech did this in my old company, caused the power switch to melt and burn

reason power switch trips > is a short/overload somewhere- did u check outlet for proper voltages between Hot>Neutral / Hot>Ground / Neutral>Ground ? Power spikes that push voltage beyond 10% can cause tripping of switch.

is Printer on a dedicated outlet line ?

It's actually going through a shutdown? Try "initialize all data"...back everything up first... it's a start after firmware. Could be a power issue also

We had one that the overnight control PCB failed with similar symptoms. It kept turning off on its own but one time it never came back on. We swapped the main power supply PCB, still wouldn't come on. That little board got it going again.

I agree with you, its a bad idea to force the power switch to remain on. It was only a test, then removed it.
as for the power, it tests fine and I installed a power filter to be sure.

I looked through the parts and service manual, could not find anything referring to an overnight control board

So, I have replaced the Power Supply, after looking further in to the Overnight PCB which i found to be the All Night Power supply in the Main Power Supply. and still the same problem occurred.. There must be something I am missing
