weird quirk with these 33xx - easy fix with new hdd and firmware, before i get flamed - spent too long on these trying to format and recover the hdds when you can pick up the hdds for 10/20 quid....
have had some luck back at base recovering the older hdds.....

Re: Canon C3325i - Setup Failed

dont know how to break it to you guys - HTS545050A7E380 | eBay

currently 57 hdds under 20 quid.....

Canon 'hdds' are NOT anything special - they become special when formatted and loaded with firmware.....

you can go one step further and get ANY hdd and clone existing hdd to it - but remember you cannot preload hdd(for latest models)....but now hdds are so cheap it aint worth the effort

    hope this helps

Start with the basics by reloading the firmware before you start replacing an unnecessary HDD!

You can not simply use ANY HDD even if it is the same size.

However simply buy an identical hard drive model that you currently have in the machine this will work as Canon have a set list of specific HDD models that you can use.

Back in the day you could edit the firmware but now it is encrypted.

and the problem with this as stated earlier is you get 80% the way through and it fails as stated a weird quirk so it is quicker to swap out HDD in field and start a fresh, you can then try to recover HDD back at workshop...factor in parking costs in London this proves to be better by far economically.....

Your taking my reply out of context - as long as you ghost or clone you can use any size as long as it is the same or bigger ....
