Canon IR2545i, Registration off 1/4" when copying or scanning

Existing customer has this Canon that seems like it needs a registration (lead edge) adjustment for the scanner. When copying using the feeder or on the glass the lead edge is off consistently by a little over a quarter of an inch. We had the customer print off a self generated meter page which they said looked fine (apparently it was centered correctly on the page) but everything scanned prints off center. Anyone know the procedure? We deal in Sharp and Konica so pardon the language if the terminology is wrong. Thanks for any help offered.

I would verify that a pre-printed page is fine because the registration clutch can be a problem on that machine. It is behind the HVT in the back

Thanks Brian and Phil, will double check the self generated counter list to see if it's off also. Not sure how many pages the ADF has on it but we get the same result from the glass. The customer is copying letter size originals on to letter size paper.

I’ve switched the registration clutch with the bypass clutch. Same clutch. All right behind the HVT

Thanks for the tip, will try it. I didn't mention that the paper is actually going through early since the image starts further away from the lead edge than it's supposed to be. Does that still indicate the reg. clutch?

Could be. Worth a shot. It’s easy to get to

    Hey Brian,
Swapped out the reg clutch with the bypass like you suggested and the machine works great. Customer never uses the bypass tray so don't even have to make a return trip. Thanks so much for the expert advice, we would have wasted tons of time trying to figure this out on this unfamiliar machine. Thanks again and best of luck to you!
