    IR1435 faint copies

    Hie all
I have a Canon IR1435 which is giving faint copies. I have changed the drum(which was making lines across print), fixing film, pressure roller, charge roller and cleaned out magnetic roller with brasso. I still get faint copies even if I adjust in Print Quality to the darkest density, nothing changes.
    What could be the problem.?

Just realised that I didn't clean the laser. The tonner is not original but customer claims that's what they have been using since the machine was new. Meanwhile let me go over there and clean the laser and see what happens. Thanks a million...

I would be changing the developer unit and putting in OEM toner. The compatible toner for that model is not very good.

So I've cleaned the laser slit glass and still no change. I even removed the shutter and there's no difference. Not sure what else to try.
    Any suggestions?

Stop the copier with a sheet passing by the drum through transfer. Check if you can see a image on the drum and what it looks like. Sounds to me like you may need to change the developer assembly.

Have you tried to make a test print copy from the machine and copies are still the same?
If so,try to observe the contacts of the dev unit with the bias contacts could be no proper
    contact.
2 Try to sky shoot the copy and see the darkness and if still faint just concetrate on the bias voltage from the HVT.

Adjusting the HVT should make a change but I suspect bad toner. What does the Mag Roller look like? Lots of lines?

I'm not sure sky shots are reliable on these small models. Some machines just cant produce a nice black skyshot no matter what. Better to depend on a test sheet.
