    Power supply converting 110v to 220v

    Hi there,

    May I know how to convert power supply of Canon IR 1730/IR ADV 400i from 110V to 220V?

    There are 3 pieces to that supply there.
    First one on top looks like an AC drive board. That would have the fuser lamp driver on it and looks like it distributes AC to the 2 other DC supplies.
    Bottom left looks like the 5V standby and the one on the right 24V and 5V.

    There would be 3 separate boards that could need modification.

    Some DC supplies would be rated from 110 to 220.
    Don't know Canon and my guess would be that it would not be wise or safe to modify the supplies.

    If the part numbers in the manual are the same for both regions it could be compatible with both line voltages.

    Beefy external step-up transformer or an AC to AC converter that can handle the current could do the job.

    I have a 220V to 110V and visa vesa transformer if i find lost 110V devices around here.


    That design is better than the other brands where those 3 boards are integrated on to one and cant be changed out like this.
