Canon IR Advance C5535 Paper Trays Not Being Pulled in Or Lock In Place

    Hi All

i have a customer with the above model of copier. We were at their office for no paper cassette functions out of either tray. When we got there there was paper crushed behind both paper trays. After that we got the trays to come up but they don’t draw in or lock in place. If I hold tray closed until it lifts I can get the lower tray functional. Everything seems fine otherwise.

is there a paper tray disable mode that needs to be reset. And if so what is that. Thanks in advance.

Looks you're right, some Konicas will do the same and you need to perform trouble reset after cleaning jammed paper to clear the code.
Just wait for Canon guys help here.

During transport, metal plate deforms inside the machine.
Remove all paper cassettes out and you'll see.Remove and fix the plate.

This was resolved. Both paper trays were not drawing in and locking. What i found was that both cassette auto close assemblies spring units inside completely reversed to the forward position. Once i took them out of the paper tray unit and reversed them back it now works fine. Not sure how they got that way. This all started with a paper jam behind trays.
