Swapping Booklet Finisher to a Canon 7565 Service Mode Changes?

I have 4 Canon Imagerunner 7565i that I personally maintain at my print shop for about 2 years now. I'm moving a booklet finisher to one that previously only had the simple stapler on it but I can't remember in Service mode where I'm supposed to tell the machine that I have changed the configuration of the machine so that it recognizes it.

I'm not sure about the c7565, but on the older c7065 and c7260 you didn't need to do anything to have full functionality as a copier.

If you want to print to it with the new features, you do need to go into the print driver and tell it which finisher you have attached.

I've done it before and you have to tell it you added something, if not you just keep getting finisher errors

No sure it is in service mode. I think you have to tell it in the print driver device settings.

Printer and the fnisher do not have the same firmware version.When you update the machine and the finisher will work. In the driver you click "get device status" if certain functions are not available. You can update the machine via Internet.Finisher must be connected during the upgrade.

You don't have to tell the machine as long as it made for the model you fitting it to
