    incorrect scan size

I have a canon ir4035 that's detecting a letter size as 11 X 17 when scanning from the glass. I have replaced the complete ccd unit and reader controller and it made no difference.
size detect is on in level 2 option. Thanks in advance for any help in getting this issue resolved.

    Re: incorrect scan size

I had the same problem on an iR42xx series. My clients machine detected A3 when copying from the glass. I replaced the size detection sensor snd that resolved my problem.

    Hope it helps

Set the Scan and Send option under the paper size to "Free".

    In service mode check :
    LEVEL-1 COPIER>OPTION>FNC-SW>MODEL-SZ = "1" and
    LEVEL-2 COPIER>OPTION>FNC-SW>SENS-CNF = "1" ("0"= AB configuration / "1" = Inch configuration)

    also check
It has been found that if the frame erase is set under the option tab this can cause the issue. The simple way to see if an option is selected is the option tab will be yellow

    Re: incorrect scan size

Thanks for the suggestions. I have checked the MODEL-SZ, SENS-CNF and set scan size to FREE. Frame erase is off and unfortunately I still have the same problem. I took a CCD UNIT and READER CONTROLLER from a working machine and replaced them at the customer site. It did not resolve the problem, so I took the parts back out of the machine and put them back in the working machine. Now I have 2 machines with the same problem.
I did not do a backup of service mode data RSRAMBUP before removing the CCD and READER CONTROLLER from the working machine. I made sure that the CCD data matched the service label on the original working machine, but still the same problem. Thanks a million in advance for anyone that has a solution to this problem

Don't close DADF or Platen cover when make copy. Use finger manually on /off original sensor, check which size be detected? Also you can turn off original size detect as last option

Tech pub N14-015. I cannot paste the pub here but there is a mod for the reader. It solved the same scenario for me.

    FC8-6450-010 retaining plate
    4y8-0019-000

The retaining plate has changed and the sheet has been added. This worked for me.
