Canon Image Runner Advance 4245 scan color is off, color with a B/W original

Hi guys, hope you are all doing good.

this thing was sending green scans from the black and white test pattern with the settings,

Auto (Color/Gray) 300X300 dpi, Auto size, PDF (Compact).

i pulled the scanner and cleaned the mirrors and glass.
sometimes it scans it in black and white, other times its in color.

i have access to another 4250, but since it is intermittent, i was thinking that the scanner must be ok??

does anyone have any ideas what could be the cause?

    thank you very much, Jim

I think scan board or cable is bad try to reseat cable and if the result worse or change that's right?

I use to found pink and green scan in ir3225 and it's on the edge of photo.
    copy is normal
    B&W scan is normal
but when color scan there's color on edge.

You can test on preview scan.

    Good luck

    ok, thank you for that.

i had already re seated the cable at the scanner, not at the board. it had been also giving the error E225-001.

but i had another same model that was throwing the E280-003 and i replaced the cable for that and so far its been ok.

the scanners are on back order from Canon.

thank you very much for the input.
    Have a nice day, Jim
