I keep getting E100-0300, please any help to resolve this?
The sensor for the Black seems to have a problem.

E100-0300 is a laser (2) error have you tried swapping the lasers over.
If after swapping them over you get E100-0100 you have moved the fault to laser (1)
The older 5000 series would become ready without a laser connected obviously the colour/black would be missing but at least you can fault find.
When you think you have made a procedure idiot proof your company employs a better idiot.
The laser is faulty, at the start you had the E100-0300 code which indicates the laser in position 2 is faulty when you swapped them over it told you laser in position 1 is faulty, E100-0100
The part no is FM0-1021-000, it's the same laser as goes in a 5255 if you have spare machines.
What happens if you leave the faulty laser unplugged and turn the machine on as I said in my previous post the older machines would actually copy/print like this.

The problem is a faulty laser unit

@mga that service manual makes more sense than the one I have all mine talks about is laser 1 and 2, although I assumed laser 2 would be the cyan / black.
