Canon IR500i not printing or copying

Hi, I have an issue with a Canon IR500i, the printer boots to a ready state with no errors but every time I try to copy a document nothing happens and it returns to a ready state.
When a document is sent to print the message appears on the front panel that it's been received and green processing LED flashes. The message then disappears, LED stops flashing and no document is in the print queue.
This happens from the clients network and via my laptop on a USB connection.
Any ideas what may be causing this?

have you tried an internal test of the machine?

Yes same thing, just freezes and printer has to be rebooted.

Sadly it sounds like the controller board isnt booting up. I hate to say it but it usually means the machine is toast.
