    Great explanation this makes perfect sense.

    So, as a quick test applying spray oil to these bushing should, in theory, temporarily resolve this issue?

    i prefer you clean the whole turn unit as i mentioned above then put some oil

    Yes oiling will loosen them up enough to verify issue but these are Oilite bushings are are not meant to be oiled. If you oil them, it mixes with paper fibers,toner etc and seize again. Oiling gets rid of the symptoms..bearings will eliminate the problem. 62xx/82xx come with bearings already in them

    Makes sense. Fewer clutches is a good thing.

    Ive had good luck with a drop of tri-flow on those oilite bushings and i normally try to take things apart if i can to clean the shaft and bushings ect. I will keep your info in mind. Drive units getting gummed up.

    This is my thought, machine has done 1.7 million if a few drops of oil can get say 200k by then we'll put a new machine in this site.
