C5255 - mixed colors put on all prints. ITB cleaning blade maybe?
Hi everyone,
This print quality issue just came up on a Canon IR ADV C5255, which is used on the weekend.
Below, is two different PG-6 reports.
PG6-IRADVC5255-reduced.jpg
So far I found the waste toner path was clogged, the door to the waste toner wasn't open so the waste toner backed up.
I got that all cleaned out and there's no more back-up of waste toner, but after doing more prints, and a Clean Inside Main Unit I still have the above happening.
I'm thinking maybe it's the ITB cleaning blade?
Anyone have any advice?
Thanks.

Since you have already seen something wrong in the waste , i would suggest to clean the itb cleaning assembly and check its mechanism if still working properly.
The direction of the sheet helps if stated.
Test a pg on a large paper and see if there is anything repeating. Test 3 consecutive sheets.

Thanks Hishamawada!
The direction is LTR printed long-edge first. The paper in the photo is travelling from left to right and the streaks are in the direction that the paper travels.
Agreed on checking the ITB cleaning assembly. I'll try that next.

Ah ok , it could be that the blade is also damaged, keep one spare with you .
But first clean and test .
Best of luck.

Update on this for someone that may have the same thing in the future.
The little black "handle" on the end of the waste toner container was broken, so the screw in the waste toner container did not turn. This made it so that the waste toner backed up in to the ITB cleaning blade unit and spilled on to the belt.
This may have also damaged the cleaning blade, having so much toner stuck in there with nowhere to go.
