IRP C165 stuck on ‘Preparing Toner’

    Hi all.

Hoping someone has seen this issue before.

My colleague performed a DC-CONT clear to resolve another issue however now the machine won’t print & it just has this message at the bottom of the screen.

The machine isn’t adding toner it’s just sitting here silent.

We have entered all the settings inside the front door, updated the firmware but this message remains.

Is there a service mode item I can use to maybe reset/clear the toner counters to 100% ?

All the toners are displaying over 30%.

Try going into service mode and enabling this: COPIER > OPTION > DSPLY-SW > Level 2 >< T-CRG-SW> Set to "1"

Back out and hit settings/reg > maintenance > replaced specified toner

I think you pick replacement not yet needed when you open the main toner cover and see if the machine will pop the doors open.

Take out the bottles, and power off. Power it back on and wait for it to ask for toner bottles before putting them back in.

    See what that happens.

It's possible you one of your hoppers is messed up...this used to be common on older 9000 series and the machines aren't that much different.

    Hi,

    Thanks this was the fix.

After taking all the toners out, giving them a shake, & refitting it prompted to replace the yellow.

After fitting a new Y toner all was good.

    Thanks again.
