Canon IR 400 “Load Paper”

Hi Guys!
I have an IR 400 that says “load paper” when it has paper.
It will feed paper through the by-pass though…
Any ideas?

check the paper size assembly switch behind the cassette
its wires maybe torned

Make sure there’s no jammed paper behind the cassette, playing games with the switches.

That used to happen a lot on that model.

But, seriously…an iR400? That relic is over 20 years old!

also check the paper sensor plastic flag... I've had them break off.

Is the printer the IR 400 or later IR 400i model ?

I've tried it one time on similar machine and did not succeed... Canon really did a number on over engineering this module.
