Did you turn off two step verification on your office account?

I haven't, but I thought that using the "app password" will bypass this security feature. same with Gmail accounts.

anyone have a detailed guide on setting up a C5250 machine (fw v54.58)
to use office 365 account with *app password*.

Office 365 Primary Server: smtp.office365.com
Port: 587
Secure Socket Layer: On
Reply E-mail Address: [Username]@[DomainName].com
SMTP Auth: ON
Username: [Username]@[DomainName].com
Password: [Password]

network test using GMAIL with port 587 is working flawlessly.

once I shift to Office 365 accounts, it will prompt *SMTP Authentication Error*
app password is copy-pasted to prevent typo error.

would appreciate any tips.

I have read somewhere that this can be done via relay, still looking for a "guide for dummies" for that one yet.

hopefully someone can confirm here that all I need is the latest firmware.

yes, I found this link also. but still trying to find a more detailed tutorial/video tutorial as I am not skilled enough on office365 administration.
