Setting Up E-mail and I-Fax Capabilities

All Universal Send Capable imageRUNNER Models, imagePRESS C1, Laser Class 710 / 720i / 730i
The following steps will allow you to send and receive E-mail:

    1. Make sure you have all of your TCP/IP information set up (IP address, Subnet Mask, Gateway, DNS Server (if one), Host Name, and Domain name of your Domain) before you begin.
    2. Enter into the Network Settings and Select E-mail/I-Fax.
    3. If you are setting this up for SMTP (Simple Mail Transport Protocol) to send E-mail and I-Fax, enter the IP address or Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) of your mail server in the SMTP Server section. For example: mail_server.organization.company.com. Then enter the email address that will be the default sender in the SMTP Address field.
    4. If you use POP3 and want to receive e- imageRUNNER mail and I-Faxes, fill in the IP address or FQDN of your POP3 server and the account added for the imageRUNNER-iR. The password is optional and needs to be entered if set on the e-mail account of the imageRUNNER-iR. Set the POP interval (how often the machine will log in and check for mail).
    5. Reboot the device.
    * Note - AUTHENTICATION ISSUES -
-If the SMTP mail server requires authentication for sending email, enter Encryption/Authentication login information (SMTP authentication via a username and password).
    - For the models that do not support SMTP authentication, the administrator will need to set up a SMTP Relay.

Thanks Tecat, as I mentioned pswd Fiery.1 does not work. Tried with admin or Admin user name - no go. Without admin privileges I can't do it.

    have u tried this

    1. Enter Service Mode (hit Additional Functions, 2 and 8 simultaneously, then Additional Functions).
    2. Hit COPIER, FUNCTION, then CLEAR.
    3. Scroll over 1 screen, highlight PWD-CLR and hit OK.
    4. Reset out of Service Mode.

when are u actually receiving this
    log-in/password prompt ??

are u receiving the log-in/password prompt at
    Printer>Functions
or is it when u power up C1 printer and shown main screen ??

do you have a imagePass(Fiery Box) on this C1 ??
    if so>
try this >Printer>Functions>when u are prompted to enter password leave it blank and hit OK !

    Found this old post/
Sorry ,I don't know who to give the credit

if u have a Fiery log in issue >>>>>>>>>>>>>>
    Fiery Password Retrieval Tool

    Fiery Password Retrieve.zip

Here's a PS file that I use to retrieve the Fiery Administrator Password if the customer has lost it or is not around to give you the password.
    Works like this:
Unzip the file...it will be a Post Script file.
With Command Workstation Or Fiery Downloader send this file via the DIRECT Queue.
The Fiery will then print one sheet with the admin password.
Beats the heck out of reloading system software.

Hope it helps someone in a pinch. As far as I know it works with all models past and present.
