NEVER seen a manufacturing date on any Canon how strange... maybe its some US requirement.

In the UK we do not have the date label, only the serial number label.

What does this do? I went into it, and had no idea where to go next. I've never seen this in the manuals before. Is this for factory settings?

Service mode 3, and it is for the factory only. Screwing around could brick the device for good.
