[Misc] Reinstall Firmware for Canon iR 2016J

I have Canon iR 2016J, the screen show "Download Standby".
I try to reinstall the firmware using 2020 firmware, is it ok?

The SST and machine work as well but machine's screen still show "Download Standby".
Help me please.

Ive encountered that problem before. I replaced the dc board with new one .after that it worked out. try it first if you have another machine of the same model

iR2016J / iR2016 / iR2020 / / iR2016i / iR2020i
This machine and options can be upgraded by downloading system software programs from the personal computer (hereafter called as the PC) in which a service
support tool (hereafter called SST) has been loaded.

System software programs and upgrade tools are listed in the following table:

SST =Main unit System (main controller) The main controller also controls the reader.
Boot = (boot program)
Option PCL = (PCL printer kit-J1)
Fin_U1 (Finisher-U1) Dedicated service tool needed to update (Downloader PCB: FY9-2034)

System software programs to be downloaded need to be registered in the SST.
The system software programs are registered with the names listed below.
<Software Programs Pre-Installed in Main Unit>
Machine name:iR2020
Unit name:
- Main controller: System
- Boot program: Boot
- PCL board: PCL

[System Software Registration Procedure]
Start the PC.
Start SST.
Click the "Register Firmware" button.
Select the drive in which the system was downloaded
Then click the "SEARCH" button.


A list of system software programs contained is displayed.

This machine does not allow two or more system software programs to be downloaded at the same time. If two or more software programs need to be upgraded,
register and download them one by one.

When the system software program registration result appears, click the OK button.

Connection
iR2016J / iR2016 / iR2020 / / iR2016i / iR2020i
1) Turn off the main power switch of this machine, and then disconnect the cables connected to this machine.
2) Connect USB connector on the back of this machine to the PC using the USB cable
Downloading Procedure
iR2016J / iR2016 / iR2020 / / iR2016i / iR2020i
1) Turn on the power switch of the PC and start SST.
2) When the power switch is turned on, the Found New hardware Wizard appears. Click "Cancel".
3) Select "MFP" in "Target Selection", and then select "iR2020" in "Model List".
4) Double-click the "System" folder in "Model List" to check the system software version. Select "USB" in "Interface", and then click the "START" button.
5) Turn on the power switch of the host machine.
6) Press the following keys on the control panel to enter the service mode.
Additional Functions Key > 2 Key > 8 Key > Additional Functions Key
7) Using the plus (+) or minus (-) key, select "#DOWNLOAD".
8) Press the OK key on the control panel to place the host machine in the downloading wait mode ("#DOWNLOAD CONNECTED" is displayed).
9) Press the OK button on the SST screen displayed on the display of the PC.
10) When connection is complete, Click the OK button in SST MENU.
