About to permanently give up on laser technology, please help

The Canon MF8350Cdn is my first and likely last laser printer, never in my life have I had so many continuous printer problems, they just never seem to end. Inkjet printers just work all the time and I miss that reliability tremendously and will be buying a new high speed business inkjet printer soon so I once again have a reliable printing technology (I retired my last inkjet after 250 000 prints).

Now my latest laser problem is that I get horizontal (sheet in portrait orientation) cyan, magenta, yellow and back bands about 1/2" thick every 3 inches or so on the page.

What could be causing this and how do I fix it?

    Thank you

If this is any help, the bands don't appear on text only prints, but appear if I print a full page image (100% coverage).

Would it help if I upload a scan of the print?

I'm starting to wonder if it's not the entire printer that's broken and not just bad cartridges.

I'm weeks behind on my printing because of this and my customers aren't happy.

Should I just go buy the latest HP Business inkjet right now and give up on laser (or at least Canon) once and for all?

I was just about to walk out the door to buy the new HP as I've had it with all the problems of laser printers until I decided to reboot the Canon which solved the banding.

Re: About to permanently give up on laser technology, please help

Can someone please tell me what could be causing these bands? They're already back after just the 2nd print after rebooting. I had promised my clients the prints would be done tomorrow.

Please can someone give me an idea what would be causing this, if it's just bad cartridges or a failure in the printer itself? I seriously need to know if I have to go buy a new printer before the stores close in about 5 hours.

    Thank you

    Refill your toner\drum cartridges again.
