Brand New machine, installed the toner cartridges but the machine thinks there is no Black toner. The cover does not open either.
Any ideas please?
Thanks in advance

If the machine thinks that the toner is empty, then it should prompt you to replace it and you should have the option on the screen for the door to open. Is that not the case? Otherwise go into Level 2 so you have the option to open the toner doors from Settings/Registration. I all else fails, take off the rear cover and use the ratchet to manually crank the toner doors open.
In Service Mode Level 2 make the following change. COPIER>OPTION>DSPLY-SW> T-CRG-SW. Set T-CRG-SW to a 1.
Exit Service Mode and perform the following:
In User Mode, enter SETTINGS AND REGISTRATION> ADJUSTMENTS/MAINTENANCE> MAINTENANCE> REPLACE SPECIFIED TONER.

There are Two different toner tubes for the IR adv 50xx range. If you or a customer has tried to force the wrong one in it will push back Two white hooks visible at the very end of the toner tube holder. Take the toner tube out and look inside with a torch. If you have reasonably thin arms you can just about reach inside and pull the hooks towards you. Then fit the correct toner.
Unboxed machines can be a bit quirky, I have had this problem in the workshop. This method solves it.
Take all the toners out using service mode as others have stated.
Using a screwdriver you can push the latch in and close the toner covers.
Turn the machine off and on.
The machine prompts you to insert the toners dont !
After a few minutes you will hear the toner motors turning and the message 'wait a while' appears.
When the motors stop turning and the 'wait a while' message has gone put the toners in.
Managed to remove the Bk toner cartridge by removing the rear cover ....
Then, I noticed that the Bk Toner Hopper had the top plate in the back hanging in a vertical position. Flipped it to horizontal position using a spring-hook and the problem got fixed.
Thanks all for the replies!
