Canon iR ADVANCE C5051 - password reset

    Hello,

Our service company has broken contract and refuses to maintain our copiers, because they lost their partnership with Canon.

They set administrator passwords on the machines, and say they don't remember what they set, insisting the person who installed our machines no longer works for their company.

Is there a way to reset the administrator password without blanking everything back to factory settings?

    Thanks

To remove the Department ID, or the System Management password-

    go in service mode>>>>to clear

    clear.JPG
highlight>then select Ok!/The password removal will not erase any department ID registered users.

for an Advanced Box administrator password----

The default username/password for the Advanced Box is 'Administrator/password'. You are prompted to change the default password the first time you login to the Advanced Box user management settings.
If you forget this password and can no longer access the Advanced box the only way to reset it is to initialize all data settings.

    1. Hit [Settings/Registration] button

    2. Login with System Manager account if enabled

    3. Select [Management Settings]

    4. Select [Data Management]

    5. Select [Initialize All Data/Settings]

IMPORTANT: This will reset ALL settings on device back to factory defaults. All files stored in mailboxes and the Advanced Box will be lost.
