E027-0400 in IR advance color 5035

Hi everybody, the machime error code indicates, No black color on test 10.

Error code E027
items to look at

1- Check if the black toner bottle is seated correctly in position > if not it will result in the error code.
Removing the black toner bottle and manually opening and closing the end cap along with re-seating the bottle may resolve the code.

2-The gear stripes out do to friction in the developer assembly. Replacing the gear may not resolve the problem. Open the developer and check for toner clumping and for a stuck auger. Rotate the auger by hand with the cover open and see if the toner moves freely.

Solution :
It has been found that the D cut portion of the drive gear can strip out and not allow drive to the developer. The drive gear is a X shaped gear.



The gear part number is FC8-4338-000.

Here's what I found. Not sure if the above techs fixed it so thought I'd send this.

• Code: E027-0400
• Description:Error in supply with Bk Developing Assembly
  Failure in detection about the changes of ON => OFF => ON with the sensor which detects a full rotation of the supply screw within the specified period of time.
• Remedy:1. Check the damage of the Developing Coupling. If it’s damaged, replace the Developing Assembly. 2. Check the damage of the coupling (with the Developing Assembly) at the Host Machine side. If it’s damaged, remove the Main Drive Unit to replace the coupling. 3. Turn the motor as a single unit while the Drum/ Developing Assembly is removed to check rotation of the Main Drive Unit. If it does not rotate, replace the Motor. If the above measures do not solve the problem, replace the Drum Driver PCB (UN4). If there still remains the problem, replace the Main Drive Unit. 4. Remove the Hopper Unit and manually turn the Supply Input Gear to check rotation. If it’s results in NG, replace the Hopper
