Ecopy Embedded lag + Seizing on Ricoh IMC device

    Hi all,

We have recently installed ShareScan (Ecopy) Embedded software on a Ricoh IMC3000 device, however it keeps lagging and seizing up on the screen.

Device Firmware has been updated to latest version
Java Card Updated to latest version
ShareScan has been reloaded and currently Running version 6.0.112
heap and stack values have been upped

Any body seen or had simular issues?

    Thank

Re: Ecopy Embedded lag + Seizing on Ricoh IMC device

Don't know if this will help, but I found it on the Ricoh TSRC. It about @Remote Registration, but there are some references to External Appliances.

SETTING PROCEDURE: Tech Service Bulletin No. D0BL/D0BM/D0BN/D0BQ – 013

    (1) Embedded appliance
If 18S GW CTL or later model fails to register and/or disconnect to @Remote center server, please check
    the following item:
    1. Open 18S GW CTL or later model’s WIM
    2. Log-in as an administrator
    3. Confirm that the RSA is set to “Active”
    4. Confirm that the following settings are NOT disabled same time.

     TLS 1.2 is disabled
     SHA1 is disabled

    (2) External appliance
If 18S GW CTL and later model is registered via an external appliance, please perform the following
procedure depending the external appliance type before registering a device to the @Remote center server.
    1. Open 18S GW CTL or later model’s WIM
    2. Log-in as an administrator
    3. Change TLS1.0 and/or SSL3.0 to “Active” depending on the external appliance.

    Device Management -> Configuration -> Security -> SSL/TLS -> SSL/TLS Version
RC Gate BN1 and RC Gate S:
SSL3.0 need to be changed to “Active”
    RC Gate A:
TLS1.0 need to be changed to “Active”
*Refer to “PUB (C) - 155 Set Encryption Settings for Certificates” in detail

    4. Put a check mark to “3DES:168 bit” only in case of RC Gate BN1 and RC Gate S
    5. Confirm that RSA and SHA 1 are set to “Active” only in case of RC Gate BN1 and RC Gate S
    6. Confirm if each @Remote certificates match between the device and the external appliance.

    Device: Confirm “SP5-816-102”
External appliance: Refer to “PUB (C) - 155 Set Encryption Settings for Certificates”

    7. Register the device to the @Remote center server via the external appliance.

If 18S GW CTL and later device became a SNMP managed device, please perform the following procedure.
    1. Remove its SNMP managed device from the @Remote center server once.
    2. Follow the above 7 steps.

Where on the device did you install Sharescan?

I recently found that when i was installing VDMS (Pcounter embedded) on an IMC that it would only work if installed on the SD card not on the HDD.

I haven't tried Sharescan on an IMC but i can do if needed.

ShareScan has been installed on the Java SD card.

If you have a chance to install ShareScan let me know how you get on with it.

    Thanks

Check if scanner is selected inside enhanced external charge unit management.
I had a scanning software installed in an IMC that prevents me from doing a connection test to a folder.

Also, make sure you have the latest embedded installers from sharescan
    Aye! Cut the crap

Perhaps a silly question, but did you install the 4gb memory module when you installed the Java card?

Seems silly that we now have gone back to Java cards for “legacy” applications.

I don’t know if Java will even work without the extra memory, as I have not yet had the opportunity to see it.

I do know that the memory is automatically added when the Java card gets ordered, at least according to the Configurator page.

Have you increased the Heap and Stack Size Settings in Extended Feature Settings?

When installing an embedded application it is recommended to increase both to around 75% of the maximum.

Obviously you failed to fully read and understand Batman's original post. He stated "heap and stack values have been upped." Your correct question should have been how much he increased them by.
