    FTP Scanning Question

I've been working on figuring this out for several hours. I wanted to give it my best shot before having to ask anyone for help, but I'm at a stand still.

I downloaded Filezilla and made the necessary rules for the firewall. I created my username and password in filezilla. I gave full control to the shared folder.

I'm using a Kyocera TA-3501i as a test vehicle. I input all the FTP settings in the copier but I'm getting a connection error. I'm using port 21. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to put for the hostname. I used the IP address of the computer I'm on. Is that wrong/right?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Re: FTP Scanning Question

    IP address should work.

If ftp scanning I would recommend

Quick 'n Easy FTP Server Lite

it does not get any easier

I was about to quote YOU from another thread! FTP Scanning Question

Mansart is right, and while I have not used this software with my clients in the field, I have tested in a few times with some copiers in our office. It's really easy to set up.

Great software. As long as network security isn't an issue, I HIGHLY recommend it!

I'll give that a try. I'm not really a big fan of Filezilla.

    Re: FTP Scanning Question

You don't have to share the folder using filezilla server setup

    user name
    password

than map to folder enable all checks

settings for copier ipaddress or host name
    user name and password
    path .

I use it all the time

screen shots if this doesn't work

I gotta take a break for tonight. I'm reached the point of diminishing returns (my head hurts.) I'll get back on it tomorrow. I'll hit you up for help.

    Re: FTP Scanning Question

I finally got FileZilla to work. Had to change port numbers and assign a port range under passive mode settings. Also had to create a a couple of firewall rules. It was a learning experience and it will come in handy for those machines that don't support SMB 2.0.

    Re: FTP Scanning Question

By the way, one of the problems I was having is that FileZilla was saying that I was behind a NAT router. Here was the fix for the next person that encounters this:
