Zebra S4M SNMP GET Community String Change

Looking to change SNMP GET community string from "public". Even after I make the change to GET, SET, and TRAP, GET's and WALK's still respond to "public". Does Zebra still keep "public" internally even though it is changed to something else. Another mfg does something similar. Updated FW on the S4M to v58 but no help. We have a GK420D that we changed from "public" and it no longer responds to GET's and WALK's.

It's a pretty basic thing, which you've probably done, but have you restarted the printer after making the changes? Wouldn't be the first device I've seen not apply a settings change until after a reboot.

Yes. Updating FW requires rebooting the device.

We ended up taking it out of "HPJetDirect mode" and that cleared the "public" GET string.
