Slnx v3 ,scan to folder issue,

    Hi everyone,
    Hope you doing very well.

We recently installed slnx v3 for one of our client, it takes too long to get the files in scan folder. To get the files in pdf format workflow is as ""pdf converter- scan to folder ". 6mb file would take almost 6 minutes and as the size of the file increases it adds more delay.
It is also tested from different devices and models , MP 6055,5055, IMC 3000, MP 6503 with same results.

Native scanning works very well to the same location without any delay.

    Need ideas.

    Regards

Which version of SLNX 3 are you running?

There have been several updates for it.

    It's 3.3.2.200

Has this been the case with few versions of the software?

    Not that I'm aware of.

I don't see a patch for that version (other than upgrading to 3.4.1)

Is all the firmware including the SOP panel and java (where applicable) up to the required versions?

Do you get the same result if using SLNX to scan to email?

Make sure the DS has the network side configured properly. There could be a DNS issue which will make you crazy until found.

Lots of other possibilities, too, such as is there a NAS or other storage media involved? NASes can open up an entirely different can-o-worms.

Just thought of this...What version of the client is running on the MFPs?

A mismatch will cause all kinds of issues.

All the firmwares on the devices are updated to latest including SOP & Java,

We didn't check this large files as Scan to email, size in kB works without any delays.

NAS and user home directory both checked to rule out the NAS issues, native scan also works perfectly to both locations.

    firewalls are off .

    completely lost.

    Regards

I once had a customer with SLNX 2.3 (I think) who had the same slowness issue, and they were using a NAS. Onboard scanning was cool.

Turned out to be that the NAS had some problems with SMB1 versus SMB2/3, and the SLNX server had a problem with it.

An update to the NAS resolved the problem.

Re: Slnx v3 ,scan to folder issue,

Just for laughs, set up a hot folder using the same workflow as the one with the issue.

The flow will be the same, except that the MFPs and their connections will be bypassed. The flow would come straight from the DS.

if it's fast, the problem lies with the MFPs or their software. If it's the same, the problem lies between the DS server and the storage destination.

Actually when converting to PDF it all gets messy, if we select the profile (workflow) on machine it makes it bit faster but the size of the file goes large, and if we keep the profile on server then size of the file reduces but it makes it so slow. clueless at the moment.
