What happens when you run: nslookup smtp.gmail.com ?
Is it resolving the address?

thanks for suggesting smtp2go
works well
i dont have a domain i am just using myaddresshere@smtp2go.com and its working fine.
or do u mean you have to signup using a business email, because that i did have to do
in many ways this service is better than gmail anyway. i always hated the fact it saved all sent items. but this one is acting more like a relay so i dont have to worry about that. plus the configuration option are the most flexible ive ever seen. the fact i can use about 6 different ports and i dont even need encryption is great for older machines. the 25 per hour is possibly a limit some might hit but to upgrade to the next paid plan is very reasonable
Adding to the thread, gmail has "app passwords" that can be generated under the main account without using the main accounts password. I make these for customers that use google, and never hear from them again. Note, you have to enable 2FA withing the google account to enable app password generation.
