    SC899 on Ricohs

    Evening all,

Just a quick heads-up on this one, been getting this more often recently. Microsoft Edge is the default application to open PDF's in clean installs of Windoze and causes SC899 when certain fonts are printed. Installing Acrobat / Foxit or printing the PDF as an image is a cure.

Also stop using the POC that is Microsoft Edge and install Firefox.

Micro$oft hates printing, and anything associated with it.

They prove it time and time again.

I never thought using Edge as web browser what comes for PDFs viewer Just drop that shit and use Foxit or Acrobat readers as mentioned.

If you install Revo Uninstaller you can remove Edge from your system.

The last version of Acrobat reader that I liked was v9.1. I had to get a new laptop a few months ago when my old one refused to boot. When I tried to download 9.1 from Adobe I found out that they no longer offered it so I found Foxit. Not quite the same but still acceptable. Reading this thread I decided to make another check for Reader 9.1 and found it at Oldversions.com.

No need to actually uninstall Edge, just make Reader or FoxIt your default app for PDFs. Even if you’re in Edge and open a PDF, it should open in whichever app is the default.

But it gets rid of annoying popups from Windows wanting you to try Edge.

Keeping ALL firmware up to date all of the time seems to take care of the SC899's.
