Anyways, this whole topic just went from "How can i clone a HDD to a SSD" to "How should we do backups and what network would i need" so i think this is getting out of place now
My man, you're the one that started the clone a hard drive over the network and went off on a tangent blaming old network cables.
I was wondering what software is best for cloning a hard drive. I've tried a couple of free ones.
-AOEMI Backupper
-Macrium
Macrium seemed to be a little better. I was able to make a mirror image on an External SSD and then place it on a new SSD on a laptop.
I've only ever done this one other time. Was wondering if there's something better out there. Thanks in advance.
Windows or Mac? Prior to copy repair I was doing IT for a school district. Would set up a mac per class and CCC (Carbon Copy Cloner) to the rest with no issues using target disk mode. This was 2017ish

For copying the contents of one drive to another at this point it would have to be Windows as Macs haven't really had a wide range of products with replaceable drives in quite awhile.
