Hi,
The printer defaults, accessed through the "Management Code Menu" (the * button), for "Print Density" is set to the maximum darkness (#05). Print jobs are too light. I believe there is another method to set darkness, please help if you know what that is. The copier is equipped with the optional Printer/Scanner kit. The regular copy function has a proper range of light to dark, it's just the printer section that needs to be darker.

Check under printer menu it's very odd to ever have to adjust print side
are you using the correct print driver? should be kx driver

Send the following PreScribe command: !R! FRPO D4,4;EXIT; to set print density to 4. (range 0 light to 5 dark)

Notice the computer response does not include the first " ! " in " !R! ".
BTW: I do know how to obtain the status report directly from the copier control panel, I first just wanted to try a !R! command that would not change anything.
Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? Anybody?

Thanks much to the guys that responded to my original question.
It appears I need to send a PreScribe command to the copier, Kyocera KM-2530.
I believe I have the correct command and format, but the methods I've tried to communicate with the copier have been unsuccessful.
Can someone please provide step by step instructions, I'm screwing it up somewhere.

If you model does not have a place on the webpage to place commands you'll need a utility ... either LPR Jar or IC Link. =^..^=

Thanks blackcat4866, you were right, I needed a utility, I'm now using "Copy To Printer" which is simple and works well.
I still have not solved the original problem with this Kyocera KM-2530, print density D4 is set at the darkest, 5, and print jobs are too light. The copy function has great light to dark adjustment, print does not.
To summarize:
Kyocera is hard wired to the LAN with a Cat 5.
Been testing the same print job on two separate PCs also hard wired to the LAN, both print too light when sending job to Kyocera.
Each of the two PCs have their own printer, one a laser, the other an inkjet. When same print job sent to their own printer, they have adequate darkness. The print job is a Word document table with shading in certain fields, the shading is printing too light.
To check the range of darkness, Print Density on the Kyocera has been changed from 1 (lightest) to 5 (darkest), there is not much change, nowhere near the light to dark range using the copy function.
Any ideas?

Web into copier and check printer, never had to adjust printside only. Look for something in the printer menu is off a standard setting , is eco mode set to on? eco mode should be off That would screw it up

Thanks bsm2, good suggestion, but EcoPrint mode is off ( N6 set to 00 ).
