When you tried to ping the 3054 and got a reply, did you then disconnect the 3054 from the network and try pinging while it was disconnected. If you still get a reply, there is another device on the network using the same IP address which will prevent you from printing.
Another time when I had scanning and ping working but not printing, it turned out to be a bad 5 year old network switch. Customer had 2 of the same model, swapped them and the problem stayed with the location, not the machine.
A couple of other times it was a programmable switch where the port it was connected to was programmed to not allow printing. Both times there were 2 jacks in the room that the machine was located and it was connected to the wrong one.
