Are you sure only one wire got bitten? Usually it is multiple wires that are chewed. Might have to take all covers off and carefully inspect each wire harness. Good luck
i am sure i have inspected every wire involved. in fact, i can print out chekered image (test mode 80). just that when i go out from test mode, the error on master making unit come out again.
It would be very useful if you could share a picture of the control panel displaying the error message, and maybe also the wire you speak of as well.
There are a lot of smart people here who can do many things, but they can't see your machine or what it is doing.
For what it is worth, you might try resetting the machine. Either hold down the "Reset" key on the control panel for a little while while turning the machine on, or use the service code (I think it is service code 110, but I've been out of the trade for a while and am not sure anymore, so make sure to read the explanation of that service code before using it).
This reminds me of an HP Pagewide XL that got daily deposits of birdseed from a bag of birdseed nearby. I found birdseed and mouse poop in various parts of the machine. Each time, the enduser told me: "We caught the mouse." My response was: "Are you sure there was just one mouse? Unless I am mistaken, the birdseed seems to be transported somehow into the printer again, and I don't think that it's walking there by itself."
My suggestion to remove the attractant (birdseed) was ignored. It took 6 visits to locate all the birdseed. The mice could have been a little more cooperative ... leaving the deposits in more accessible areas. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
