    Disassembling a GR3770

    Hi,

My riso GR3770 died earlier this year and I've managed to find a replacement with only 800k prints on the clock. I don't have space to keep the old one anywhere so I thinking the next best plan is to take off the parts that are most likely to need replacing on the newer machine should anything go wrong in the future. I'm thinking the TPH and PCB boards. Is there a guide anywhere on how to do that? Or would someone care to talk me through the steps?

    Anything else that's worth harvesting?

    Cheers

Find yourself a technical manual for disassembly. But specific parts I'd say the impression roller and the guide roller assembly. The impression roller is easy, pulls out with leverage. The guide roller assembly is a bit more, but there are springs on it that break and are next to impossible to find. Also possibly the pick up clutch. Good luck.

Thanks, after a dig around I do have that manual. Unless I'm being a dummy, I can see anything on removal of the guide roller assembly and pick up clutch. My manual is a bunch of separate PDFs so I might be missing a couple.

I'm going to take a stab in the dark and guess you have the GR 3770 service manual. It only has the differences between the base GR and the GR 3770. The base GR service manual (also in separate PDF files) has everything you're missing.
The GR manual has 47 PDFs by the way. The 3770 has 9.

    Good luck

Yes, I have the 9 pdf one. Where do I get the complete one? I have no idea where I got the one I have...

    Re: Disassembling a GR3770

I managed to find the service manual and have removed the following parts:

    • TPH
    • Image scanner unit
    • All PCBs
    • Guide roller unit
    • Paper guide plate
    • Stripper plate
    • Scrapper unit
    • Paper feed clutch
    • Pressure roller

Is there anything else I might as well try to take off before I send the chassis to Riso heaven?

Thanks. The drum is good, but the new machine came with a drum in it but no case. It's a HD black drum which I already have, so I'd like to sell it. Not sure how much it'll be worth without a case though. I've got a search alert on eBay for one but I'd be surprised if one came up any time soon.
