Riso RZ 220ui programming a new color drum
I am trying to program an color drum. I bought a used drum that was lavender and am trying to go to blue. I have been able to ink it in test mode, but when I take it out of test I get the d-02 532 error.
I haven't printed at all with this drum, so I'm not sure that it was operational when I received it.
This is what what I've done based off the manual:
1. With the print drum out- and 2 fingers on the print position left and right buttons - I turn on the machine.
2. Release the 2 buttons and put the print drum in the machine.
3. I press the reset button and error "h101" shows
4. Enter "2" for color and hit start.
5. After that the display shows all 0000s.
Once I turn the printer off and on it comes up with the d-02 532 error. Any insight would be helpful.

D02-532 is incorrect print drum is used. Are you sure it's not an EZ drum? EZ and RZ drums are not interchangeable. The outside of the case should have a sticker on the side of it

I just confirmed that both drums are RZ2 legal.

With your Blue Ink in the drum
Run Service mode 117
Then run service mode 890
Turn the power off and on

Re: Riso RZ 220ui programming a new color drum
I am writing out the exact steps I've done to make sure I'm executing the process properly.
• With the drum in the machine, and starting in service mode (print position UP & Down)
• Display shows d-02-532
• Hit reset button (Its the only button that will clear the display)
• Display shows H101
• Enter 2 (for color drum) hit Start
• Display shows 0000
• Enter 117, hit Start, hear 2 beeps.
• Display shows 0117, hit Stop to clear
• Display shows 0000
• Enter 890, hit Start, hear 2 beeps.
• Turn machine off and on.
• Display shows d-02-532

Take the drum PCB off a working drum and put on this drum to troubleshoot

Still unable to program the color drum.
I swapped out the PCB for each drum. The color drum still doesn't work and the black drum is working like it was before.

Re: Riso RZ 220ui programming a new color drum
Know anybody else with an RZ 220? A school or church maybe or if they have an EZ 220 put it in there and see what message you get. It still thinks you have the wrong drum. Without another machine or another drum to troubleshoot with it's hard to say. Contact a local service rep and ask them if they have any.

I'll see if I can track one down. Would it help to see if I tried to make my black drum to a color drum?
