    Riso RN2030 A01-201 code

have one of these in our shop that keeps having the A01-201 code.

went in the Test Mode and I believe we checked all the sensors, switches and motors and they all beeped correctly or moved correctly.

Is there some sort of main board problem?

    thanks.

master positioning sensor bad even though in test mode it beeped correctly- short beeps with master roll loaded?

Have you tried resetting the machine by holding the "Reset" key down while turning the machine on? That's what I'd try first.
Then you need to clean the sensor and its target surface. Kind of sounds like there's a buildup of ink or something on the target surface that causes the sensor to detect master material when there really isn't any there. I think that's the black felt strip on the drum just clockwise from the master clamp.
I wouldn't recommend spending too much time on something as old as the RN line though, if you can help it. If you don't have all the documentation, they can be troublesome, and good parts are hard to find anymore.

tried your reset suggestion...didn't change anything.

ended being a bad sensor that is near the "master gate". It would act the same if there was a master present or not. We replaced that and it was ok.

It does have some small pieces missing from the elevator tray- green plastic tips that go on the fences. I haven't tried tracking those down yet. Looking up another piece, one of the magnet catches is missing, my Riso pricing says it is discontinued.

      Thanks for the info though!
