    Lexmark E260 laser unit

    Hi
I was cleaning a laser unit from a Lexmark E260 and a small part (see picture) has fallen out of the unit. I don't know if it comes out of the unit or not. The printer was printing OK with a slight fading on the left margin, when i opened the unit, there was some toner dust deposited on the mirror, so i cleaned all the mirrors and lenses, when i assembled it and put it back its has started giving error after the machine perform 3 initialization cycles. I saw the part fallen on the chassis. Any body knows if this part comes from the laser unit and where it fits. It is very small about 1mmX2mm, one side is shiny silver and other side gold.
    Thanks

I guess that's the 'mirror' that reflects the laser beam to OPC Drum. That tiny mirror is hooked up on two wire ends in that coil inside Print Head. Don't think you can do anything else other than fitting a new Print Head (Laser Unit).

I speak from experience as I did a similar mistake when I tried to clean one of these Print Heads.
