not desktop but 3dsystems/Stratasys type.
Ive got a customer that has two, that have been factory deinstalled and want to sell as they are switching the type of printing they offer.
Both have been OEM maintained.

All I know about those small 3d printers is the axis shafts must be well oiled and kept very clean.
If I had more access to them, I would try to market myself to repair those, but don't have the experience or resources.
Would love to get access to the more professional solutions!
Got the CNC part down, also not to bad with SolidWorks and Fusion360 CAD and CAM.
Think its better to go and create new markets for there use. There are so much use for them that the smaller companies has not touched yet!
Been day dreaming about signage light boxes and other uses for 3D printing in the signage industry only.
Nothing on the cosmetic side more the internal construction combining that with modern manufacturing techniques.
For remote farms making all kinds of parts like pipe fittings and adapters. Antenna brackets, hoppers and funnels, enclosures, ear tags, sprayer heads, the list can go on.
Can make a business out of the sales training and maintenance of these machines. Can see why a more professional solutions will become more available.
If you can afford to obtain them get them. There is also a reason I stuck to opensource.
But cant see why they can not be converted to the Atmel MCU type controllers even LinuxCNC for FDM.
Then there is not much reason to stick to the OEM's.
