Someone may know how stones can be certified?

Hello everyone! I have such a situation: as an inheritance from my mother, I got jewelry with diamonds. Mom said that in difficult moments for me, I could mortgage or sell them. The moment has come, but without a certificate of authenticity, diamonds are not accepted anywhere (only the weight of gold is estimated and the stone is not taken into account). Someone may know how stones can be certified? I have no documents for jewelry, only that they are indicated in the will.

There are special laboratories that are engaged in the study of stones and which have the right to issue certification, for example, there is a GSI laboratory , one of those to whom you can apply for a certificate.
