I suspect yes, since my parts guy requested the core for return. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Nope. It's the same DF connected to the same scanner board. It's just sitting on a different piece of glass. The only reset is the flatbed count. It was actually far easier than cleaning the stupid optics (that didn't work, by the way). Just expensive. =^..^=

I know this is years past when this was created but I just ran into this issue and you can just buy the scanner optic piece. The part number is C8569-60001 and it costs a lot less than the entire scanner assembly.

It's a bit late ... but thanks. I hope all those 880's are gone now. =^..^=

wow, great observations on the banding thru adf and on glass.

sometimes you can blow out the scanner asy.

i have gotten a few almost new parts for the flow m830 mfp thru ebay in LA county on the west coast. the parts look almost new and very reasonably priced. i had to change out a customers complete adf unit due to the adf platen plate, not the cushion, but that white bar that is in the adf and has paper clip springs that hold it down to the copy slit glass. they don't sell much for the unit.

crazy. its like the little color laserjet MFP M477 fdn series. if you need a paper feed solenoid, or a fuser paper sensor, fugetaboutit...

    thanks for the info, Jim.
