HP design jet 500

Hi all,
hp DJ 500 error 01-10
trying to reset serial number keep getting mismatch.
Checked all connectors re input number still getting the error.
Is it possible to input a generic default serial number?

As far as I know, your only choice is to replace the electronics module.

You can press the menu button (I think) and get more information on the error. What does it say?

I have replaced it with a spare one I had in stock, however still getting the same error code

Do you get the same error with the trailing cable disconnected from the EMOD? This error can sometimes be caused by a bad trailing cable and/or carriage assembly.

Was the EMOD you used from another 500 or an 800? Did it prompt you as to which was replaced, the EMOD or the ISS?

Post the rest of the error, it might tell us something.
