HP m775 faint copies and prints

    Hi guys,

I have a very odd problem on a m775, all copies and prints are noticeably faint but prints from the engine are fine.
I have swapped the drums, transfer, formatter, dc controller and flashed and re-flashed firmware.
I have raised a ticket with HP but they have not been able to help.
I am not sure where else to try, whats throwing me is that the internal prints all come out fine.

Any ideas would be very welcome

did you clean the laser lens?
did you calibrate the toner when inserted?

you need to state everything tried/replaced in the OP

Have you hooked your laptop up to the unit and installed the latest UPD driver (I suggest the PCL driver)? How do prints from a KNOWN GOOD laptop look?

Yeah, I asked that because it sounds like his issue is possibly OUTSIDE of the printer.

    Internal Prints, to me, means:
    Menu Map
    Configuration Page
    PQ pages
    Engine

    etc, etc

    Hi,

    sorry for not being clearer

    Toners are oem

Sorry for the short reply but I had just left a customer at almost 20:00 and was trying to get home.

Have you hooked your laptop up to the unit and installed the latest UPD driver (I suggest the PCL driver)? How do prints from a KNOWN GOOD laptop look?

First thing I tried still faint on prints.

    Internal Prints, to me, means:
    Menu Map
    Configuration Page
    PQ pages
    Engine

    etc, etc

That's exactly what I mean by internal prints.

did you clean the laser lens?
did you calibrate the toner when inserted?

sorry missed this in the first post, yes i cleaned the laser and calibrated I also replaced the HDD, transfer roller and the itb calibration sensors and swapped the scan pwb as a long shot and removed the optional trays.

The customer has multiple m775's and all use the same driver but only this one has a problem.

Everything prints fine from the engine but when printing from any pc running either windows or linux or copying the prints are noticeably faint.

It would make sense if everything was faint or if only prints or only copies were but all the internal prints are fine so it cant be an issue with the lsu, transfer, drums ect, copies are bad so it cant be a external problem and prints are bad so it cant be a scanner issue.

When scanning to usb or email everything is fine.

Sorry if I missed anything out, please ask for any information.

Thanks for taking the time to help

Can you post some samples? This doesn't make any sense at all. If internal prints are fine, then, anything printed TO the unit should be fine. Very strange.......
