Hi guys just a general inquiry regarding this issue.

I know this issue was resolved from a DC software patch a while back but can anyone let me know if this has been resolved in official firmware?
I'm wondering if updating official firmware will save the need to upload the patch to machines currently working OK

I've checked the official firmware release notes but just seems the include various 49/79 network issue resolutions

No. This is a DC Controller update, not a normal firmware update.

If you wait until it errors out, your too late and screwed yourself. You can TRY to get the printer to come to READY, but, I've come across 1 or 2 times were no matter how many times I power cycled the unit, it immediately came up with the error.

Apply it as soon as possible.

YES BY ALL MEANS follow what Lance15 is instructing you to do. As i have seen only a few of these issues.. and mine were always post error

OK thanks for all the responses guys, ive been without CSN/WISE credentials for a while now so trying to keep on top of any potential small problems cropping up
