CM6040 Scanning

I could use some direction on setting up scanning from an HP CM6040. Either ftp or scan to email. I have spent some time with the manual and the machine and I have been trying to get it to scan to ftp using quick n easy FTP server lite. I can't seem to get this one. I have setup others using this FTP server and they worked fine. I know it is a probably a minor issue I am missing. This machine does have an embedded network port as well as an external JetDirect card. Either one sees the network when I set them up with static IP addresses. I don't know how to program the SMTP server through the HP interface for email. I can't seem to figure out how to make it scan FTP when I set that up. Thanks for any help you can offer.
