Hello,We stumbled upon a problem that we can not solve with a product. Surprisingly, we had another suitable unit we can exchange the engine with. So I was wondering if its possible to change the serial number of an engine with just changing the formatter and MMC chip on the board.We tried exchanging the formatter of both units but device crashed with a blue screen.Thanks in advance.

sounds like you didn't follow the proper procedure when swapping boards.. hP has had it in place for YEARS!

get the manual and follow them... if you haven't bricked BOTH machines already.

might have to buy a new formatter .
