Saw my first M525 today. Put paper in the top feeder but the green paper present sensor never comes on. So obviously, it scans from the glass instead.
Didn't see individual parts, so I ordered a new adf \unit.
Question is...Do these sensors fail often or am I getting to enter a world of trouble ?
Oh these ADF feeders aren't great. Many revisions over the years. It is a complete crap shoot! Some machines run fine for years while others can die within a few months.
I believe this model has a DF closed sensor in the top scanner cover. I've seen the flag busted before. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
