700 M775 Scanner Control Board or CIS for 2 inch black line middle of copy

When you copy (only) a 2 inch black line goes through the middle of the copy. (Prints from PC print fine.) I have ordered the Scanner assy thinking it is the CIS. I am second guessing myself and wondering if I should have ordered the scanner controller board instead. (I thought the SCB came with it actually) Any thoughts would be helpful. Thanks so much !!! (It is a horizontal line fed LEF dead center of the page)

Replacing the "Scanner Assembly" solved the problem..... The scanner controller remained the same.... (New memory chip)
