Does anyone know if a standard Seagate 500gb Sata drive will work on these? Do they have to come pre-loaded with firmware?

Any I have ever ordered required a preboot init and load, so maybe not. I've never tried a "third party" drive, but it would be interesting to see if it worked. Sorry. I know, not much help, but I will definitely be following this thread.

Ok, I bought Seagate Momentus Thin 320gb drives. Mounted, loaded firmware and it works fine!

Now the tricky part. Finding the correct fuse to reset the fusers. Fusers look new, but counter is near end. Me thinks someone replaced incorrectly last round!
